Just keep everything as Broker Daniel, as it is superb and original. Your exsreemly controversial yet very informative…I ask you not to upgrade with the thought of moving with the times.

To get hits from search engines Daniel, you prob need to use key words or tags such as shares, stocks, trading etc.
    Here is my choice
    Best one is http://www.stocktrader.co.uk
    or you could try
    http://www.stocktraderdan.co.uk
    or more punchy
    http://www.shocktraderdan.co.uk
You may want to pick up traffic from http://www.stocktrades.co.uk ( Edin based) so could go http://www.stocktrades.org.uk
Or go with my first choice and pick up on hits from http://www.stocktrader.org.uk which is an advice area for trading.
Don’t be tempted to use the words ‘stockman’ or ‘stocksman’ in your URL or you’ll be inundated with farmers trading beef cattle!
Mine’s a 12 oz ribeye please, rare-ish.Oh and I’ll have 5000 Matra to go with that please at 3.5p.
    Keep it real Dan!

I think a great tool that you might want to offer to us would be the analyst consensus. The buy/hold/save chart. I’m a very new investor and although I do alot of research, I appreciate the 1-5 opinion of this type of chart along with the current stock price and it’s most recent and popular headline. These are basically part of my daily surfing , as well as reading your blog…If you were giving me this info, I’d be hanging out alot longer with you and maybe even posting questions, concerns and comments. Good luck…I appreciate your site—THNX!

  5. michael says:

New AIM Listings would be a great addition as small investors are always looking for a chance to get on at the bottom of the rung before the big boys move in. Your Blog is good and this feature would enhance it further.
    Keep up the good work

  6. BMD Follower says:

Please keep the daily tips/recommendations/research which you post simultaneously via your website and email subscription. They’re very informative and allow me to conduct my own research on those companies and then buy the stock for a long term hold.
    Many thanks 🙂

  7. A. C. says:

I second both first comments. Nice and simple, clear and uncomplicated.

  8. aberdeenfm says:

I predict a good future for your blog, Daniel, if you continue doing what you doing. Very best of luck.

  9. Marris says:

How about a basic glossary of terms used in the money markets, just to help more inexperienced investors. It may help people understand RNS’s a bit better – when I started I couldn’t tell if an RNS was good, bad or indifferent.

Thanks Dan for all your hard work, your’s was the first site I signed up with and it helped me a lot.

  10. Chad13451 says:

Hi Dan, how about a section where people can state the next company they would like you to analyse? Most popular gets the Bmd treatment. Also a forum for members would be good.

  11. Nibor says:

A link to a good search engine for your archives would be a welcome addition to your excellent blog.

  12. Conal says:

Not sure what the correct term for it is but live talk, were members can talk with 1 another instantly would be gd.

  13. Geoff says:

I don,t usally bother with tweets and blogs and all that rubbish but your newsletters i never miss keep up the good work .

  14. aberdeenfm says:

I would just spend some money for design, function etc… it’s an investment it’self 🙂

  15. Martin says:

I think the key thing here is information. Whether we follow your tips or not, you give a valuable insight into companies that we may not have seen and provide a starting point for research. Us little guys are up against the ii’s with all their masses of information, so I for one would like to see new AIM listings. Big profits are made by getting in early..

    Peace

    Hi Dan,

Keep it simple 🙂 this site (and many other blogs/simple sites) are so popular due to their ease of use and simplicity. IMO people wont want to have ‘busy’ pages and huge menus with lots of functionality. I think its great your updating your site, but keep it simple! Just a my suggestion 🙂

    Thanks

  17. Dave says:

put in the sms alert service, so whenever there is a new post anyone could receive a notification via email with post title

  18. 13thMonkey says:

We need a section where mods can immediately put posts from people that can’t use Google to find out ticker codes, people that constantly ask/comment about Matra and nothing else, and of course the bloody grammar nazis, to keep them off the rest of the site. 😉

More seriously, a section where serious research not done by BMD (like that often posted by the likes of Oilbug and others) could be posted and discussed would be good. Also a section with investing basics to help people that are new to the game may well help attract (and educate) a wider audience.

A share club with a section specificaly dedicated to covert information gathering, night bring to heel those who would use “jimmery pockery”, like 5 aces in their hands, which I believe has been to the detrement of the small private punter.

I realise I am suggesting that we, the small punter now seek to hold the 5 aces in our hand, and why not? A club the size you can muster, and one that can be nimble and change direction quickly Dan, can combat the mamoth market. With your knowledge Dan, it must also have a section where ” deserving shares” are researched and identified by the “management”, who will then direct his flock to he starting block, ready for the off. If million pound bonuses are the order of the day for those doylems who got the financial world into an almighty mess, then a few bob should not be amiss for the humble “organised” private punter.
All the best Dan, cant wait to be called to battle stations……. BM.

Could I suggest that the image on your website, which I expect is the terrorist, che, is inappropriate. Also find a light coloured background easier to read.

  23. A Chance says:

    Daniel
could i ask that you have a system – manual or electronic – that deals with the spelling and grammar “idiosyncracies”. Sorry, minor point but as a former English teacher i do notice these things

    • 13thMonkey says:

      seriously?

How exactly does grammar affect (was so tempted to use effect there (their), but that would have been childish) the quality of tips and research on potential investments? IMO if you want well written prose, go read the economist, if it’s a choice between getting the information out quickly, or checking everything over carefully to make sure all the english is perfect then I know what I’d choose.

      • A Chancer says:

        hello Monkey
i think it is very important. It allows the writer to encode and the reader decode the exact message without having to fumble through incorrect spellings and, more importantly understand emphasis when punctuation is askew. Just a suggestion and nothing to fall out over

        • 13thMonkey says:

I should apologise Chancer- the reason I get a touch direct on this point is because I get irritated by people that focus more on the spelling then the issue under discussion, as happens all over the internet. Thinking about your previous posts, you are not one of those people, so sorry for the hard wording of my post.

Even so, I think spelling and grammar often have surprisingly little effect on comprehension, even when completely messed with:
Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at an Elingsh uinervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, olny taht the frist and lsat ltteres are at the rghit pcleas. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae we do not raed ervey lteter by ilstef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

And as the proper ALEX points out, there are many for whom worrying too much about spelling would inhibit exchange of ideas.

    • The Proper ALEX says:

      Really??
Does spelling detract from the information provided?
As a dyslexic, I say screw the grammar police, and write freely.

  24. The Proper ALEX says:

Dan, could you put your ear to the city and see if there is any reasons behind the Encore dip today?
Is there news/rumors of no hydrocarbons on the 1st target site at Burgman?
Or is it just big fish bullying the small PI?

  25. Peter says:

Dan, just stick to what you are doing. Otherwise you will end up disappearing up your own a..e! It’s great and helpful as it is.
    Thanks & Regards

  26. BrianBrian2 says:

Dan, I think we are all wise to the effect a recomendation from you does to the share price, but if you want to give maximam impetus to that specific recomendation, why dont you have a 2No. times call to prayer each day. Say 10,00am in the morning and 2pm in the efternoon. Ok there maybe no blog from you at those times or even that day, but when there is, we can all rally to the starting block. All the breast Dan………

  27. Adam says:

    Hi Dan,
After getting annoyed at iii’s dismal efforts at running a proper discussion forum, and properly moderating it, I decided to set up my own – http://www.42gallons.com – still early days but it is targeted mainly at AIM/Oil/Gas Explorers..

Now I notice you are setting up a site too. Are you including a forum? If not, any chance you could have a peek at my site and give me a shout out. I am all for freedom of speech, but iii’s is an absolute joke for hosting a sensible discussion on.

    Cheers for reading,
    Adam

I reckon forum is crucial part of any community… Daniel, trust me, you want to have it… all you do is set-up an addon domain… like http://forum.brokermandaniel.com forum is a good place to keep community…
Please realise the potential and power that is in your hands… you can quite easily adjust a stock by percent or two…
Have you seen social network movie? Think big Daniel…
    all the best
